Do not Forget the Solar Charger!
You’re hiking, you took the GPS with you, and halfway you’re out of battery. Very typical, it happens to everyone. And sometimes it’s very dangerous when you left the trail for more “adventure”. For this reason you should consider taking a solar charger with you, and have it as a backup.
Brunton has a folding solar charger, that measures only 9 x 4.5 inches, small enough to fit into a large pocket, glove box or backpack. The solar panels capture the sun’s energy with up to 90% efficiency and channel it through a USB output. Energy is enough for recharging GPS, cell phones, PDAs, iPods and other USB devices.
The Brunton Explorer Foldable Solar Panel can be purchased in REI for only $79.
